Orange Is The New Black

WATCH: Intense New Trailer For Season 5 of ‘Orange Is The New Black’

Things at the fictional Litchfield Penitentiary are getting real.

Season Four of Orange is The New Black ended with one of the guards being held at gun point in the middle of an inmate riot. Judging by the looks of this new trailer, the girls aren’t about to calm down anytime soon. We see glimpses of an official inmate protest, even bringing together different prison cliques that have traditionally been enemies.

It appears that OITNB is slowly transitioning away from being a comedy, and transforming itself into a full blown prison drama. We’ll withhold judgement until we can watch new episodes on June 9, but the move has the potential to really inject some life into a series that some people thought was on the verge of losing its edge.
