WATCH: First Official Trailer For “GLOW” Features Plenty of Spandex and Big Hair

Out of all the Netflix Original series (many of which are really great), I have to admit that I’m most looking forward to watching GLOW, a dramatized series based on the real-life wrestling promotion known as Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling.

GLOW sprung up in 1986, and featured actresses, models, stunt women, and actual wrestlers all combining to form an all-female pro wrestling television show. Alison Brie stars in the series as a struggling actress who somehow ends up auditioning for a role and learning that pro wrestling is unlike anything she’s ever seen before. The series will also feature Marc Maron, Kate Nash, and former WWE star Kharma aka Awesome Kong (real name Kia Stevens).

If you’re at all interested in the very strange, very rich, and very colorful history of professional wrestling in the United States, you should probably consider GLOW must-watch viewing! It will hit Netflix on June 23.
