This Custom ‘Game Of Thrones’ Catan Set Is Board Gaming Perfection

We love when two of our favorite geeky interests come together, so when someone says “Settlers of Catan, but Game of Thrones-themed” we immediately start paying attention. An active member of the Game of Thrones subreddit by the name of carlotta4th has shared such a wondrous creation on /DIY, and are even offering the design to anyone who wants to build their own via digital download.

This meticulously-detailed set took carlotta4th nearly 40 hours to craft; a process that included creating vector files, etching tiles, taping and sanding, staining, and gluing felt to cardboard. The set is a re-skinned version of a standard Catan game with the two player expansion and every single piece, from tiles to the game pieces to even the wily robber, has been given a Game of Thrones makeover.

The attention to detail here is ridiculous. The Longest Road award features Littlefinger’s mockingbird sigil, while the Largest Army card references the Clegane brothers and Brienne of Tarth. Players choose from the major houses — Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, Baratheon, Tyrell, and Martell (the Greyjoys are relegated to the robber token, which is a kraken in this case) — while all the city and settlement pieces feature lesser houses and cultures tied to each major house (Dothraki with Targaryen, Mormont with Stark, and so on).

Here’s hoping you have some crafty people in your life willing to help you build this board, or maybe the demand will become so high that carlotta4th will start building them full time. Either way, we really need to get our hands on one of these.
