The Walking Dead

The Police Were Called To Investigate A Family Watching ‘The Walking Dead’ Premiere

Sunday’s midseason return of The Walking Dead was so violent and realistic that it convinced some concerned Great Falls, Montana citizens to call the cops after hearing what they thought was real gunfire at a neighbor’s home.

A 911 call came into the Great Falls Police Department at 7:28 p.m. Sunday night reporting “screaming from a house about someone having a gun.” A second caller helped direct the seven officers who responded to the initial call to locate the house in question.

When officers arrived on the scene, they reportedly heard “loud talking” from inside the home and observed “flashing lights.” When they looked inside one of the residence’s windows however, instead of an armed gunman they found two adults and several children watching “a show about firearms. ” They later discovered that the show in question was actually the midseason premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead, which regularly depicts ample amounts of screaming, gunshots, and abject misery.

The officers left after making the discovery and no one was injured. It turns out that the family had two windows wide open, which probably explains why it sounded like a real zombie apocalypse was taking place. Hopefully they remember to shut the windows and maybe turn the volume down a bit next Sunday in case an armed SWAT team is sent to investigate next time.
