‘The Jetsons’ Are Getting A Live-Action TV Reboot

Warner Bros. is developing a live-action TV series based on the classic cartoon The Jetsons, with Back to the Future writer/director Robert Zemeckis serving as an executive producer.

As reported by TV Line (via IGN), the new series will see the return of characters George, Jane, Judy, and Elroy Jetson — plus their dog Astro — but set further in the future in the year 2118. The original animated series took place in the year 2062, which was also 100 years ahead of its 1962 debut.

In addition to Zemeckis, Family Guy executive producer Gary Janetti and Cast Away producer Jack Rapke are also on board to produce the series. No actors have yet been cast.

There is also an animated Jetsons movie currently in the works, with Sausage Party director Conrad Verson attached. No release date has yet been announced.
