The ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season Finale Will Be The Show’s Longest Episode Yet

The current season of Game of Thrones may be the shortest yet in terms of episodes, but it’s sure had its share of extended episodes. Last week’s epic “Beyond the Wall” was close to 70 minutes in length and unsurprisingly, the season finale is also set to be a marathon session. In fact, it’s going to be the longest episode of Game of Thrones ever:

The final episode of GAMES OF THRONES’ current season is titled “The Dragon and the Wolf,” and debuts this SUNDAY, AUG. 27 at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on HBO. The total running time is 79 minutes, 43 seconds.

That’s from a press release HBO sent out, which interestingly also reveals the episode’s title, “The Dragon and the Wolf.” One can only assume this refers to Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow, though it could also be a reference to just Jon Snow himself and his status as half Targaryen, half Stark. Does this mean we’ll finally be getting official confirmation that Jon Snow is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark and thus, Dany’s nephew? HBO has nearly a feature film’s worth of running time to fill out with the finale, so there’s sure to be some time in there to address this long-awaited reveal!
