SPOILER: ‘Game Of Thrones’ Character From Season 3 Returning For Season 6

While Game of Thrones is known for killing off its characters at a rapid pace, it also has a reputation for introducing characters, only to have them disappear for seasons on end. That being said, it looks like season six could be seeing the return of quite a few characters from seasons past who viewers may have thought they’d seen the last of.

As reported by Metro UK, actor Paul Kaye will be reprising his role as Thoros of Myr, the Red Priest of the Brotherhood Without Banners, who was last seen in the third season. This news was confirmed by Kaye’s agency’s website, which stated: “Paul has also been busy with television roles, you can catch him in the eagerly awaited Season 6 of Game of Thrones.”

This news is sure to spark debate among diehard fans, as Thoros’s reintroduction will likely have a significant impact on the overall plot. We’ve seen that Thoros is capable of bringing people back from the dead, which will naturally lead to speculation about Jon Snow’s current situation.

While it’s unlikely that Thoros will have any impact on that particular plot given the sheer distance in geography between the two characters, a source told fan site Watchers On The Wall that Thoros’ return will involve a hanging.

If true, this news is sure to excite book readers, as Brienne of Tarth is nearly hanged by the Brotherhood Without Banners on the order of Lady Stoneheart AKA the resurrected Catelyn Stark. While Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have claimed that they have no interest in featuring Lady Stoneheart on the show, they could just be messing with us.

Whatever the case may be, we’re just excited to see what’s going on with Thoros and the rest of the Brotherhood again. Now, if the show can also tell us where the heck Gendry is, that would be great.
