The Surprise ‘Rick and Morty’ Season Premiere Doesn’t Mean More Episodes Are Coming Soon

The best joke (that was really a non-joke) from April Fool’s day was when Adult Swim announced that the Season 3 of premiere of Rick and Morty would be airing that very night. Everyone rolled their eyes and thought “Ha, very funny!”

Except they weren’t kidding. The long awaited return of Rick and Morty did indeed drop on television (and streaming) on Saturday night, ending an 18-month wait. However, Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, creators of the insane animated show that features a genius mad scientist and his gullible grandson going on various adventures in infinite dimensions, don’t exactly have the entire season ready.

On Monday, Adult Swim announced that the rest of the episodes would be arriving “later this summer.” That’s awful news. In the meantime, you can watch the season premiere again every night this week at 10 p.m.

Let the long wait continue. Great April Fool’s gag though, fellas.
