Only One ‘Game of Thrones’ Actor Was Fooled Into Thinking Jon Snow Was Dead

Kit Harington may have earned an Emmy nomination for his performance as Jon Snow during the sixth season of Game of Thrones, but it turns out that he actually has a pretty lousy poker face when it comes to things like telling his co-stars that his character was dead and gone.

As Harington told TheWrap, he was unable to convince anyone on set that he was leaving the show and that his character was dead (even though he was technically correct about the latter).  His goodbye speech in particular is a bit of a sore spot for the actor. “It wasn’t one of my proudest moments as an actor,” Harington said. “I wasn’t convincing at all. I didn’t want to do a big speech and start crying, because I knew I’d be seeing these people next year. So I did a bit of a hash job on it, and I could tell a lot of them didn’t buy it.”

However, Harington was able to make one of his cast mates believe that it was the last time they would ever see his ridiculously-handsome face on set: his on-screen half sibling Sophie Turner. The reason? Harington claims he simply put the most effort into trying to lie to her. “I don’t know why I chose Sophie, of all people, to deceive the most.” he said. “I let her in on the secret last of anyone, really, and she was so sweet. She wrote me a letter about my leaving the show, and she bought that I wouldn’t be coming back … I kind of played tricks on her like an older brother would.”

Hmm, is it any coincidence that it looks like Sansa may stab Jon in the back next season. The White Wolf better keep a close eye on her …

(And for the record, you didn’t have us fooled either, Kit … okay, maybe a little.)
