New ‘Star Trek’ TV Series Names Showrunner

The upcoming revival of the popular sci-fi franchise Star Trek as a new TV series has found the man who will be running things, and it’s a familiar face to both the franchise and TV fans in general. Bryan Fuller, who began his career as a writer for Star Trek: Voyager and Deep Space Nine, then moved on to create critically-acclaimed shows such as the surprise hit Hannibal, as well as Pushing Daisies and Dead Like Me, has been signed as showrunner for CBS’s return to the Trek universe. Fuller is also currently in charge of creating the much-anticipated televised version of Neil Gaiman’s seminal novel American Gods for Starz, so it looks like his plate is about to become very full.
