Marvel’s Netflix ‘Iron Fist’ Show Is Still Happening

Marvel has finally broken their long silence on Iron Fist, the fourth and final show in their Netflix deal before the crossover Defenders event.

While rumors circulated back in October that Marvel was scrapping the show in favor of a feature length movie (which would also be a Netflix exclusive), it looks like Marvel is still going the full season route, as they have not only hired a showrunner but also released a brief synopsis:

“Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.”

According to reports, Dexter producer Scott Buck will serve as showrunner for Iron Fist. Unfortunately, there is still no known release window for the show, with some speculating that we won’t see it until at least 2017, but it’s nice to see that Marvel is still committed to bringing the mystical kung fu master to the screen alongside fellow Defenders Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage.
