Walter’s Coffee Roastery may not be slinging crystal meth, but they’ve clearly recognized the benefits of getting people hooked on their product, fusing the world’s favorite caffeinated beverage with an appropriate(?) Breaking Bad meth lab theme.
The Istanbul shop takes the Breaking Bad theme seriously, roasting their beans in a lab with workers outfitted in the distinctive yellow hazmat suits worn by Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) in the hit AMC series. Other highlights include “blue meth” cupcakes and a wall covered in the periodic table.
Owner Deniz Kosan took on the theme after realizing that his cousin bore a striking resemblance to Cranston’s character: “He looks like Walter White from the TV show and I thought it would be great to create a place where people can work and enjoy fresh roasted and brewed coffee.”
No word yet on whether Kosan wants to open up a chain of fried chicken restaurants run by a former member of the Mexican Cartel, but it’s clear that he’s in the empire business, hoping to expand Walter’s Coffee Roastery to the United States and the rest of Europe at some point.
