‘Game of Thrones’ Is Bringing Back A Dead Character For Season 7

The long wait for Game of Thrones Season 7 is far from over, but rumors and reports continue to trickle out as production moves along. Typically, each season of the show introduces a variety of new characters and while we’re sure that Season 7 will be no different in this regard, the latest casting news is sure to cause a stir, as a recently departed character is set to return.

As reported by Watchers on the Wall, actor David Bradley’s official agency résumé  has him listed as appearing in Season 7 of Game of Thrones. If you’ll recall, Bradley’s character Walder Frey was brutally assassinated by Arya Stark in the Season 6 finale, so his involvement in the next season definitely raises questions about the nature of his return.

The leading theory is that Frey won’t really be back at all, but rather that Arya will wear the despicable patriarch’s face as a way of either escaping the Twins or tricking other members of the Frey family. Another possibility is that there will be a flashback involving Frey, but exactly what that might involve is anyone’s guess.

Of course, we’ve seen Game of Thrones bring back actors whose characters have died merely to pose as a corpse, as Charles Dance’s Tywin Lannister notably did in Season 5, so it’s certainly possible that Bradley will be on corpse duty when the series returns later this year.
