In a move that should surprise no one, AMC has renewed its post-apocalyptic drama The Walking Dead for an eighth season ahead of next Sunday’s seventh season premiere.
As reported by Deadline, Season 8 will comprise of 16 episodes and debut sometime later next year (most likely October). The Season 8 premiere will mark the series’ 100th episode.
Additionally, AMC has also renewed The Walking Dead aftershow The Talking Dead with returning host Chris Hardwick.
The Walking Dead’s seventh season premiere, “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be,” airs on Sunday, October 23 at 9 P.M. ET.
