WWE Reportedly Signs Bobby Roode

One of the bigger free agents in North American pro wrestling, Bobby Roode, was shown in the crowd at the NXT TakeOver event in Dallas on WrestleMania weekend, fueling speculation that he would soon become WWE’s next big signing. Roode, who asked for his release from TNA Wrestling a few weeks earlier, was one of the longest-serving members of that promotion, and a multiple-time champion, most notably as part of Beer Money, a tag team with James Storm (who had appeared on a few episodes of NXT in 2015 before re-signing with TNA) that was considered one of the best tag teams in the world during the last decade.

While it has not been confirmed (although ran an article about Roode’s presence at TakeOver, which seems to indicate the rumors are true), there are reports that Roode actually signed a contract with WWE a week before appearing at TakeOver, and is set to debut in NXT in the near future. There has been speculation that Roode could be brought in to team with Austin Aries, another former partner of his that signed with NXT early in 2016, since the NXT Tag Team Division became somewhat light on talent with the graduation of The Vaudevillains and Enzo & Cass to the main rsoter.
