[UPDATE: The original reports stating that Josh Bredl had been released turned out to be false. We remains with the WWE, and we apologize for jumping the gun.]
The WWE has announced the release of multiple members of the NXT family, both in-ring performers and backstage announcers.
Former ECW star Tajiri announced earlier this week that he had “parted ways” with the WWE after a brief return that was hampered by a knee injury. Simon Gotch, one half of The Vaudevillians tag team, was also released earlier this month.
The newest names to hit the cutting block are former Tough Enough winner Josh Bredl , Chris Atkins, and backstage interviewer Andrea DiMarco. Bredl won the 2015 edition of the Tough Enough reality show, but hasn’t done much with the opportunity since. Atkins had been with the company since November 2015, and DiMarco (a former NFL cheerleader) only lasted approximately a year before being let go.
The WWE traditionally does a bit of roster “spring cleaning” after WrestleMania, and these five performers were on the short end of the stick this year. We wish them the best in whatever they do next.
