WWE NXT Match Results – January 18th, 2017

Just like WWE itself, NXT is barrelling down the road to San Antonio, and a TakeOver event the night before the Royal Rumble. This week, Shinsuke Nakamura and Bobby Roode sign the contract for their NXT Title match, plus the rest of the card gets officially filled out! Here’s the results from this week’s episode of NXT!

– Nikki Cross d. Kennedy Lewis (pinfall, spinning fisherman’s suplex)

Backstage, Kona Reeves confronted No Way Jose about allegedly abandoning him to SAnitY back at NXT TakeOver: Toronto, so Jose challenged him to a match next week.

– Roderick Strong d. Steve Cutler (pinfall, Sick Kick)

– Backstage, Liv Tyler challenges Ember Moon to a match next week to prove there is other competition in the Women’s Division beyond Asuka, Nikki Cross, Peyton and Billie.

Tye Dillinger came out and talked about how 2016 ended with some big losses, questioning what was next for the Perfect 10, if he even deserved the name. SAnitY arrived, and Eric Young told Dillinger that he need to start doing things a different way, and offering Tye the jacket that had belonged to Sawyer Fulton. Dillinger refused, twice, and Eric Young told Tye he wasn’t asking. Dillinger attacked Young and got the better of him, but was stopped with a spear by Damo, who destroyed Tye, accepted Fulton’s jacket and celebrated with SAnitY.

– TM-61 d. The Revival (Thorne pinned Dawson, small package)

After the match, The Revival attacked Thorne and injured his knee.

At the contract signing, Roode tried to get under Shinsuke’s skin by claiming Nakamura is beneath him, that he has no style, and that Japan is the “Land of No Talent”. Shinsuke responded by saying “At TakeOver, I’m going to kick your head off.”

“It will be glorious.”
