The Bullet Club Tried To Invade Monday Night Raw

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

The Bullet Club, pro wrestling’s hottest stable that spans across multiple promotions including NJPW and ROH (but not the WWE, officially), pulled an old D-Generation X trick out of the bag this week and attempted to “invade” Monday Night Raw.

Raw was live from Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California, which happened to be in the vicinity of a Bullet Club autograph signing session. That sparked an idea. Cody Rhodes, the Young Bucks, Hangman Page, Marty Scurll, and Brandi Rhodes gathered their fans and marched down to the arena to invade Raw. The whole thing was filmed for the Bullet Club’s YouTube channel, “Being The Elite.”

Some of our favorite parts were when they starting calling out to former Bullet Club members Finn Balor, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson, claiming they had come to rescue them. Cody Rhodes also demanded his last name back. And the Young Bucks declared their right to mimic the “Suck It” crotch chop made famous by D-X.

Obviously, the whole thing is purposely similar to when Triple H, X-Pac, Chyna, and the New Age Outlaws attempted to “invade” WCW back in the Attitude Era, proclaiming they wanted to “free the hostages” of Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.

Easily the best part of all this, though, was when Rhodes pulled off a perfect Bill Pullman impersonation and rattled off the emotional rallying cry from Independence Day.
