Sting Says He Isn’t “Officially” Retired

On the heels of rumors about his impending retirement, TMZ caught up with wrestling legend Sting and asked him if there was any truth to the news. Sting responded by saying that his neck is “fine”, and that he’s not “officially retired”. While this could seem like incredibly good news, it should be noted that the last diagnosis made public about the injuries Sting suffered at Night of Champions was cervical spinal stenosis, the same injury which ended the career of (the much younger) Edge. In addition, one has to suspect that if Sting were in any condition to wrestle, he’d have a match at WrestleMania by now. And because this is the Internet and we’re talking about pro wrestling, the sport that lies to us on a daily basis, the current rumor after this video was posted is that Sting is staying quiet until he can make an official announcement through WWE, possibly related to his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame at WrestleMania.
