(SPOILERS) NXT TV Tapings For January 2017

There’s still a few weeks to go before Royal Rumble weekend, which includes, for the first time, an NXT TakeOver event, so it’s time for the build to that show to get underway in earnest. Here are the taping results for the next three weeks of NXT programming, which, obviously, contains spoilers! Proceed at your own risk!

A video aired showing Billie Kay and Peyton Royce attacking Asuka in the parking lot before the show.

After the match, Billie and Peyton called out Asuka, who came to the ring, but got overwhelmed. Nikki Cross made the initial save, then turned on Asuka.

– #DIY d. The Revival to retain the NXT Tag Team Titles

Postmatch, the Authors of Pain ambushed Ciampa and Gargano.

– Nikki Cross d. Kennadi Brink

Tye Dillinger cut a promo where he teased walking away after his latest series of losses. SAnitY interrupted, and Eric Young offered Dillinger the jacket formerly worn by Sawyer Fulton. Dillinger turned them down and attacked Young, but was taken down from behind by Big Damo, who beat down Dillinger and accepted the jacket.

– Ember Moon d. Liv Morgan

Bobby Roode and Shinsuke Nakamura signed the contract for their NXT Title match at San Antonio after some trash talk.

Postmatch, Elias Samson unsuccessfully tried to attack Jose.

– TM-61 d. The Revival.

Postmatch, The Revival attacked TM-61, injuring Shane Thorne.

William Regal announced that the NXT Women’s Championship match at TakeOver: San Antonio would be a Fatal 4-Way between Asuka, Nikki Cross, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce. All four women hit the ring and brawl, which ends with Nikki diving out of the ring onto a group of security guards holding back Asuka.

– Shinsuke Nakamura and Tajiri d. Bobby Roode and Samoa Joe

— After the match, Kassius Ohno (Chris Hero) came out in a suit and confronted Nakamura. It’s likely the final match and this segment will not air on TV.
