Kurt Angle Could Replace Mick Foley as General Manager of Raw

Once WrestleMania 33 weekend comes and goes, Kurt Angle will have taken his rightful place in the Hall of Fame. If you believe the rumors, though, he may be sticking around the company for an on-air role.

Current Raw general manager Mick Foley reportedly needs hip surgery, and will probably require at least 8-10 weeks off. According to a Mike Johnson report from PWI Insider, the current plan is for Angle to return to WWE television on the Raw after WrestleMania and replace Foley as GM. Or at the very least, set the wheels in motion to snatch the role within a matter of weeks.

It wouldn’t be Angle’s first run as a wrestling general manager. Longtime fans will remember that he was the GM of Smackdown for a while after the first brand split, as well as having a similar role at times in TNA. Angle has been out of the WWE for over ten years now, so it will be interesting to see what kind of impact he makes when (and if) he does return.
