Out since January due to a shoulder injury which required surgery, John Cena has been teasing his return for weeks now, posting pictures of his insane workout routine, and even making a cameo appearance at WrestleMania 32. Today, Cena made the first definitive statement about when he expects to return to WWE on Twitter.
They said the surgery recovery time is 9 months, but I’m ready to go in 5. This #MemorialDay Cena is back on #Raw. #NeverGiveUp

Memorial Day, of course, is May 30th, which would put Cena’s return for the week after the Extreme Rules Pay Per View (that’s right, we’re getting two Pay Per Views within three weeks this month). It seems odd that Cena would make such an announcement over a month beforehand, but if true, Cena would be returning a full four months ahead of the usual schedule for the type of surgery he underwent.
