Is WWE Considering A Global Women’s Tournament?

There have been early reports that along with the upcoming Global Cruiserweight Series this summer, and the expected return of the Dusty Rhodes Memorial Tag Team Classic in the fall, WWE might be considering a similar tournament that would see some of the best female wrestlers in the world compete in a tournament that would air on the WWE Network. WWE has put more focus on their female competitors in the last year, including re-branding the Divas Title as the Women’s Championship, and featuring women’s matches in higher-profile spots on Raw and Pay Per Views. Much like the GCS and Dusty Classic, it’s expected that this tournament could involve WWE contracted talent as well as independent wrestlers from around the globe, and would also act as a try-out for potential new hires.

Given the level of female talent involved in WWE, NXT, and the rest of the wrestling world, all we can say is bring it on!
