Rumors are flying that WWE could be adding a bunch of smaller, independent wrestling companies to their Network in the very near future, with an announcement coming possibly as early as today. In recent weeks, WWE has sent out surveys asking subscribers if they’d be willing to pay extra money for access to additional content on the Network, which included as an example promotions like Ring of Honor. This week, WWE sent out a new survey, which asked which independent organizations they watch:
– Pro Wrestling Guerrilla
– Dragon Gate USA
– Ohio Valley Wrestling
– All American Wrestling
– Combat Zone Wrestling
– Ring of Honor
– Full Impact Pro
Also, respected wrestling insider Wade Keller made a cryptic Tweet on Sunday night which led to further speculation:
Tomorrow changes a lot of lives and careers in pro wrestling.
— Wade Keller (@thewadekeller) October 24, 2016
While he did not elaborate, the consensus is that this was not made in reference to TNA’s ongoing legal troubles, and is more likely to have something to do with these rumors. If true, this move would literally make WWE Network the home to the vast majority of televised North American pro wrestling. Whether that’s a good thing or not pretty much depends on your point of view.
