Intercontinental Title Match Added To SummerSlam

With SummerSlam fast approaching, someone must have informed the people in charge of Smackdown that the only other title on the brand besides the WWE World Heavyweight Championship still didn’t have a match for the biggest Pay Per View of the summer. That changed on this week’s episode of Smackdown, which saw Apollo Crews (who Daniel Bryan mistakenly called “Apollo Creed” because, let’s face it, we’ve all done that at least once) defeat Baron Corbin and Kalisto to earn a shot at The Miz’s Intercontinental title. After acquitting himself well in both the battle royal and the Six Pack Challenge on the debut episode of Smackdown Live, could this be Crews’ chance to break through and earn his first championship in WWE?
