High School Sophomore LaMelo Ball Scores 92 Points in Single Game

We’re not sure whether this is a result of terrible defense, selfish play, or an inside joke by the members of the Chino Hills High School basketball team in order to generate the kind of headline you see above. Regardless of the reason, young ballin’ sensation LaMelo Ball (younger brother of the highly regarded UCLA player Lorenzo Ball) scored a ridiculous 92 points in a game of high school basketball on Tuesday night.

Ball threw up an absurd 61 shots, going 30-for-39 from the field and (only) 7-for-22 from behind the three point line. Add in 11-for-14 from the line and you get a crazy stat line. The rest of his team only scored 54 combined points (and Eli Scott had 29 of those). Chino Hills beat Los Osos High by a final score of 146-120, proving that maybe no one in California knows how to play defense at all!

Here’s the highlight reel:

Ball scored 41 of his points in the fourth quarter alone. If he had shot better than 31.8 percent from long distance, he could have easily driven his total above the 100-point mark.
