First Inductee In 2017 WWE Hall Of Fame Reportedly Leaked

With the new year upon us and WrestleMania visible in the distance, it’s time for WWE to start announcing who will fill out this year’s class for their Hall of Fame induction ceremony on WrestleMania weekend. And various sources are reporting that the first name has already been decided upon, and could be revealed as early as this week on Raw. In a choice surprising only because he hasn’t been inducted already, Diamond Dallas Page looks to be the man getting the call.

A 3-time WCW Champion and holder of multiple title in both WCW and WWE, Page would be eligible for his in-ring accomplishments alone, but it’s been his work post-retirement that has arguably benefited the wrestling industry far more. His popular exercise program DDP Yoga has become a favorite of wrestlers, other professional athletes, and regular, everyday people as well, championing the power of positive energy through exercise, healthy eating, and good attitude. In addition, Page established a halfway house for retired wrestlers, in an effort to help them get back on their feet after battles with substance abuse. Notable members of Page’s rehabilitation program include Scott Hall and Jake Roberts, both of whom credited Page with helping turn their lives around during their own Hall of Fame inductions.

While nothing has been confirmed by WWE, Page is certainly a worthy addition to the Hall who clearly deserves his induction.
