With WWE seemingly suspending Superstars left and right (and rumors of more on the way after SummerSlam), it was probably only a matter of time before someone decided to make an issue out of it. In this case, it was a man named Jonathan Coyle, the husband (and manager) of Eva Marie, who was the most recent Superstar suspended 30 days for her first violation of the Wellness Policy. Coyle took to social media immediately after Eva Marie’s suspension was announced to deliver the following statement:
The Tweet has since been deleted, but we saved the content it contained for posterity:
“When the public finds out why my wife was unjustly suspended they will be absolutely outraged! Official statement and facts coming soon.”
Actually, on one hand he’s correct, because it is unjust that Eva Marie, Paige, and Alberto Del Rio have been suspended for Wellness Policy failures while Brock Lesnar is in the main event of SummerSlam (and in fact, is rumored to have it written into his WWE contract that he can’t be suspended for things like the Wellness Policy, which is incredible if true), but we’re pretty sure that’s not what he’s talking about. We’re not going to say he’s lying, but if you’re going to make a statement like that, you’d better have some pretty good proof to back it up. Otherwise, he might have just made life a lot harder for Eva Marie. History has not been kind to other wrestlers that spoken out against the Wellness Policy, that’s all we’re saying.
No other public statements have been made by Coyle at this time, but we will keep you updated.
