Bayley Talks About Her Dream WrestleMania Opponent, Women’s Rumble Match

In a recent interview, WWE Superstar Bayley, who is currently embroiled in a feud with Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte and has a title match at the upcoming Royal Rumble PPV, revealed that she’s got a far greater opponent in mind should she be given the option for her WrestleMania debut. In an answer that shouldn’t shock anyone who followed Bayley’s career in NXT, she’d like to face off her with old nemesis Sasha Banks, and try to repeat their performances from 2014 which earned them Match of the Year honors from several sources (including this very website).

“There is a few but the number one [dream match] that always sticks out would be myself vs Sasha Banks one more time for the Women’s Championship, and honestly I would love to be victorious in that match, but you know just the idea of having that match alone whether she won or I won, It would just be such a special moment for both of us so, that’s my ultimate, ultimate dream.

Bayley was also asked about the potential for a women’s version of the Royal Rumble match, something many people have thought might be possible now that WWE has significantly raised the talent level and profile of their female wrestlers.

“I kind of honestly think we need a few more girls to do something like that because the guys have 30 men. We don’t have many girls. Even if it was Raw and Smackdown combined, I don’t think it would make it 20. If we had more girls brought in, maybe like NXT girls, that would be really cool and I think it would be a lot of fun.”

With WWE announcing four more women signing developmental contracts this week, and a rumored women’s tournament in the style of 2016’s Cruiserweight Classic scheduled for the first half of 2017, reinforcements look to be flooding into the company very shortly, so Bayley may see that idea come to reality, if not this year, then possibly in 2018!
