All Charges Against Jimmy Snuka Dropped

In a meeting on Tuesday, the judge in the Jimmy Snuka murder case made the final decision to drop all charges against the former WWE Superstar over his role in the 1983 death of his then-girlfriend, Nancy Argentino. The decision had been delayed while Snuka’s medical records were reviewed, but the judge determined that Snuka’s poor mental health prevents him from adequately standing in his own defense, and is not likely to ever improve. The issue is compounded by a diagnosis from Snuka’s doctors which claim that he only has roughly six months to live due to complications from stomach cancer.

As a result, the true story of what happened on that night in 1983, when Argentino died mysteriously while in the company of Snuka, will almost certainly never be revealed, a disappointing and frustrating ending to a case which has remained unsolved for over thirty years. It also remains to be seen if WWE will re-acknowledge Snuka’s presence in their Hall of Fame now that the charges have been dropped, but given that he is one of over 50 wrestlers named in a class action lawsuit against them over damage suffered from concussions, it’s fairly likely they won’t be in a huge rush.
