New York Jewelers Receive Order From Ivanka Trump, Donate Proceeds To Clinton Campaign

A small jewelry shop in New York received a surprise order from Ivanka Trump recently and their reaction was #thanksbutnothanks.

The owners of Lady Grey Jewelry, Jill Martinelli and Sabine Le Guyader, wrote a handwritten note addressed to Trump, thanking the daughter of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump for her business, but noting that they would be donating the proceeds of her order to a few different causes, including the Hillary Clinton Campaign.

“We’re happy to let you know that the proceeds of your sale have been generously donated to The American Immigration Council, the Everytown for Gun Safety organization, and the Hillary Clinton Campaign,” said the note, which was posted to the company’s Instagram with the hashtags #thanksbutnothanks and #payitFORWARD

The note suggests that Trump purchased an item called a “Helix Ear Cuff,” which sells for $84 on the Lady Grey website.

According to co-owner Martinelli, her and her business partner were “flattered” by the order, but that they also felt the need to donate the sale given their own political views.

It is unclear at present if Ivanka Trump placed the order herself or has seen the note yet. Her order apparently shipped out last week, so it will be interesting to see if she returns it or not once she catches wind of where her money went.
