Proving that Tyrese Gibson is indeed just playing himself in all of those Fast and Furious movies, Aziz Ansari finally got the inside scoop on the actor’s insane private restaurant: a Benihana setup that he calls “GibsiHana.” Yes, this is real and it’s awesome.
Ansari’s obsession with Tyrese’s super exclusive backyard restaurant dates back to almost three years ago, when he tweeted out his desire to someday dine at GibsiHana:
WAIT @TYRESE, GIBSIHANA IS A BENIHANA STYLE RESTAURANT YOU BUILT IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD??

Ok @Tyrese, so @TheLonelyIsland and I are dying to eat at GIBSIHANA'S. Can we make this happen after you finish the #TGT tour?

The comedian also threw in a great reference to GibsiHana in his 2015 book, Modern Romance:
Today I learnt about "GibsiHana" from @azizansari. Not sure it's the main info I was meant to glean from his book. pic.twitter.com/aovXupuLZk

Well, after three years of waiting for an invitation, Ansari finally got it last week, when Tyrese invited him, Andy Samberg, and the other members of The Lonely Island over to celebrate Ansari’s Critic’s Choice Award win for his Netflix comedy series Master of None. Judging by some of these brief Instagram videos, it was well worth the wait:
Oh, but come on: you didn’t think Tyrese just stopped at erecting his very own Benihana restaurant, do you? It turns out he also has his own rooftop spa and on-site Starbucks (seriously, you can get that delivered now, man) because why not?
At this point, we’re pretty sure that Tyrese really did pull of a heist in Brazil with Vin Diesel and the Fast and Furious films are actually documentaries.
