9. Bromance:
“A close but nonsexual relationship between two men.”
Really not as dumb as some of the terms, just way overused by the “bros” of the world.

8. Derp (also herp derp):
“Used as a substitute for speech regarded as meaningless or stupid, or to comment on a foolish or stupid action.”
Dumb word needed to describe dumb things.

7. Duck Face
“An exaggerated pouting expression in which the lips are thrust outward, typically made by a person posing for a photograph.”
The only good thing to come out of this term being highly recognized is that way less people do the duck face while taking pictures.

6. FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)
“Anxiety that an exciting or interesting event may currently be happening elsewhere, often aroused by posts seen on a social media website.”
Unending happiness created by the fact things in the world are happening without you, also helps you ignore real friends in favor of online “friends.”

5. Selfie
“A photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and shared via social media.”
Side effects include desperate need of attention, intense narcissism and merciless body-shaming of others. Great. Way to go media users.

4. Sexting
“Send (someone) sexually explicit photographs or messages via cell phone.”
Just another classic example of the advancements in technology being used by teenagers in the worst way possible.
