Trent Reznor doesn’t know how to quit Nine Inch Nails. Despite multiple rumors of “this is the last tour/album/show/time” over the years, he has always inevitably returned to the act that made him famous.
Nine Inch Nails has become more of a side project for him these days, as he has been busy working on movie scores (most notably with director David Fincer), plus working on How to Destory Angels stuff, and various other projects. Despite all that, with one simple tweet, Reznor worked the NIN faithful into a frenzy.
New NIN coming in 2016. Other stuff, too.

That’s it. No details. No release date. No tour announced (yet?). Still, for diehard fans of the industrial rock icon, this is great news. Their last album, 2013’s Hesitation Marks, was received pretty well by critics and fans alike. So even if Reznor doesn’t have the pent up rage that came through in Pretty Hate Machine and The Downward Spiral anymore, a new NIN record is always something to look forward to.
