David Bowie Just Smashed An Impressive Record That Was Held By Adele’s “Hello”

Back in October, Adele slammed the music industry when she released “Hello” to the world. The single set numerous records, including the one-day record for music video views on Vevo. Now David Bowie has turned that record into nothing but a distant memory.

The day after news of David Bowie’s death broke, his Vevo page (which contains more than 60 videos from Bowie’s long and storied career in the music business) amassed a massive 51 million views. The previous record was only 36 million (which, let’s be honest, it still pretty impressive).

According to Billboard, the most popular Bowie video watched on the record-setting day was the music video for “Lazarus.”
