The Story So Far, a pop-punk band from California, is under fire after the band’s lead singer, Parker Cannon, was caught on video drop kicking a woman off the stage the band was performing on at a show in Toronto Sunday night.
The incident occurs about 30 seconds into a video that was posted to Youtube. During the band’s encore at the Mod Club, a woman climbs on stage to take a selfie when, without warning, Cannon jumps in the air and kicks her off the stage with both feet. Rather than protest the action, the crowd responds with cheers.
Jorge Dias, the Mod Club’s manager, has denounced Cannon’s actions, saying that he’s never seen anything like it in the Mod Club’s 14 years of operation. The Story So Far is now banned from the venue.
“We are appalled by the actions of the singer,” Dias wrote in an email. “That was a very cowardly act.”
Unsurprisingly, this isn’t the first time Cannon has been caught on video kicking a fan. In June of last year, he kicked a man who was also trying to take a selfie with the band on stage at a show in Houston, Texas.
Cannon’s actions have led to a backlash online, with many Twitter users speaking out against the incident.
Stop qualifying it with "it's annoying when people are on stage." No. It's just not ok to violently assault people, disproportionately women

Well done, Parker Cannon.
The money she would have spent buying your merch will now go to her hospital bills.@thestorysofarca
