It looks like one of the biggest rock bands in the world will be getting some help from one of the world’s most infamous frontmen for the remainder of their tour.
According to Atlanta-based DJ Jason Bailey, a “very, very good source” told him that Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses fame was meeting with AC/DC to replace singer Brian Johnson for the remaining 10 shows of their current tour after doctors advised him to stop performing live or risk “total hearing loss.”
“From what I was told, this was all kind of new inside information to me, Angus is a very black and white guy. He’s like, Brian, for health reasons, can’t continue fronting the band. He was supposed to retire after the last tour, so they wanted to continue going out on the road and continue making music, so if you can’t do it, we appreciate your services, but the show must go on. They’re in town, they were auditioning people for the job, and then they flew Axl in, again, this is from my source.” (via: Alternative Nation)
Axl Rose is currently committed to performing with a reunited Guns N’ Roses for six shows in April — two in Las Vegas, two in Mexico, and two at Coachella. AC/DC’s remaining shows have been postponed to sometime later this year, so Rose’s schedule could potentially allow for a guest stint with the band. Either way, “Axl Rose could be the singer of AC/DC,” is a story we never imagined we’d be able to report. What a time to be alive …
