50 Cent Is Apparently Broke, Files For Bankruptcy

Most rappers flaunt their wealth at least 27 times per song, so it’s perhaps surprising that one of the most famous rappers in recent times, 50 Cent, is apparently stone cold broke.

Despite having album sales of over 20 million worldwide since his debut work Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ in 2003, plus apparently making hundreds of millions by investing in Vitamin Water, 50 Cent a.k.a Curtis Jackson filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in a Connecticut court on Monday morning.

The papers filed list “between 1 and 49” different creditors, which probably include Lastonia Leviston, who is famously Rick Ross’s ex-girlfriend. Jackson was court ordered to pay her $5 million last week for distributing a sex tape of her in 2009.

50 Cent released an album titled Before I Self Destruct in 2009, which seems to have foretold the future. It was his last record to sell over a million copies worldwide (only barely reaching that mark) and now he is somehow out of money.
