Wolverine 3: Bryan Singer Reveals The Movie’s Villain

Although Wolverine 3 is supposed to be out this coming spring, very few details have been revealed about Hugh Jackman’s final outing as the titular mutant. So far, we’ve learned that the film will be loosely based on Mark Millar’s Old Man Logan comic arc and that Patrick Stewart will be reprising his role as Professor X, but that’s about it. However, according to X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer, a character teased at the end of that film will be showing up to cause problems for Logan in Wolverine 3.

As reported by CinemaBlend, the audio commentary for X-Men: Apocalypse features Singer and co-writer Simon Kinberg discussing the film’s post-credits scene, which sees a man in glasses grab a vial of Wolverine’s blood from the Alkali Lake facility. At the end of the scene, it is revealed that the man is working for popular X-Men villain Mister Sinister. While discussing the scene, Singer and Kinberg confirm that Mister Sinister will be in Wolverine 3.

Singer and Kinberg’s comments would seem to support a casting announcement from back in April that stated that Richard E. Grant will play a “mad scientist” in Wolverine 3. As comic readers know, Mister Sinister is a genius-level supervillain obsessed with molecular manipulation, so he would certainly fit the mad scientist bill quite well. Whether or not this is the role that Grant is ultimately playing, at least we now know the identity of one of the bad guy’s Wolverine will be facing off against in the new film.
