Steven Spielberg is heading back to family-friendly territory with The BFG, a fantasy-adventure film based on Roald Dahl’s popular novel of the same name that feels very reminiscent of E.T., judging by this teaser trailer that just debuted.
The BFG’s story follows Sophie, a young girl living in London who has been told from birth never to get out of bed and go to the window at night because of the creatures that roam the streets once the witching hour of 3 a.m. strikes. Of course, Sophie breaks that rule one night and the film focuses on her relationship with a mysterious giant who takes her on an adventure in Giant Country.
So no, the BFG doesn’t refer to this:http://www.superiorpics.com/movie_pictures/mp/2005_Doom/2005_doom_020.jpg Source: superiorpics.com
While this teaser doesn’t reveal much, anything involving Spielberg is guaranteed to at least be watchable, and the supporting cast, featuring Bill Hader, Rebecca Hall, and Jemaine Clement among others, sounds promising.
The Disney/Amblin/Reliance production is set for release July 1, 2016.
