With a track record like Christopher Nolan has, movie fans anxiously await everything he does. The director of The Prestige, The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, and Interstellar returns to theaters this summer with a wartime drama entitled Dunkirk. We’ve already seen the teaser, but this is the main trailer.
The movie stars Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance, and Harry Styles (yes, that Harry Styles), and focuses on the real life event of the Dunkirk Evacuation. The film has been given a PG-13 rating, which is somewhat surprising a movie set in a warzone. However, Nolan himself downplayed the violence:
“All of my big blockbuster films have been PG-13. It’s a rating I feel comfortable working with totally. Dunkirk is not a war film. It’s a survival story and first and foremost a suspense film… We were really trying to take a different approach and achieve intensity in a different way. I would really like lots of different types of people to get something out of the experience.” (Via SlashFilm)
Dunkirk opens on July 21.
