Of course we need another Purge movie! After all, we went the entire year of 2015 without one. With the upcoming 2016 Federal Election in the United States, film makers naturally decided to make The Purge: Election Year. Because of course.
The film stars Elizabeth Mitchell as aspiring politician Charlie Roan, who wants to ban the annual murder-fest that has turned into an almost religious government experience that is all about “cleansing your soul.” Why? Her entire family was killed during The Purge fifteen years earlier. Since it’s politics, someone obviously disagrees with her plan and decides that she needs to be eliminated. Which is convenient because, you know, The Purge is happening and all that.
