‘The Mummy’ IMAX Trailer With Isolated Dialogue Track Is The Funniest Thing You’ll Watch Today

Universal’s The Mummy reboot isn’t supposed to be a comedy, but you wouldn’t know that judging by the botched trailer that IMAX recently uploaded to YouTube.

An accidental work of comedic gold, the trailer is stripped of most of its sound effects, resulting in scenes with isolated dialogue tracks. This results in the trailer’s most thrilling moment — the mid-air plane crash — becoming its most unintentionally hilarious. Without the roar of the plane’s engine or any other sound effects for that matter, we’re left with a bunch of people making weird grunting sounds and yelps as they’re thrown around the cockpit.

Also, Tom Cruise’s isolated scream is just everything.

IMAX has understandably taken the trailer down from YouTube, but somehow it took them more than six days to catch it. Looks like Christmas 2016 isn’t a complete bust after all!
