The fastest man alive’s solo film is still a few years away, but it looks like DC and Warner Bros.are close to settling on a director for The Flash.
As reported by ComicBookMovie, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Price and Prejudice and Zombies author Seth Grahame-Smith is in negotiations for the gig, which would be his feature film directorial debut. Grahame-Smith would also serve as a scriptwriter.
This is an interesting choice, as it’s always a significant gamble handing a green director the keys to a blockbuster film. The Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were previously attached to the project, having written a treatment for Warner Bros., but have shuffled over to Disney to helm the Han Solo origin movie.
The Flash is currently set for a March 3, 2018 release date and will feature Ezra Miller in the title role. The character can be glimpsed in next year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, where he’s set to make a cameo. The Flash will have a more sizable role in Justice League Part 1 in 2017 before taking center stage in his own film.
