Spider-Man: Homecoming had a very good opening weekend at the box office, surpassing Iron Man’s $98.6 million opening for the biggest solo character debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Homecoming’s estimated domestic box office take of $117 million makes it the second-biggest opening of all the Spider-Man movies, with Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 still in first place with $151.1 million back in 2007.
Internationally, Homecoming earned $140 million, taking its total worldwide gross to $257 million.
When stacked up against other 2017 releases, Spider-Man: Homecoming now ranks third for box office debut.
