REPORT: The Venom Movie Will Feature Carnage As The Villain

Marvel’s two symbiotes will face off in the Venom solo film, sources say.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock, aka Venom will face off against none other than Carnage. Carnage, of course, is the symbiote attached to Brock’s prison cellmate, serial killer Cletus Kassidy.

With physical strength greater than Venom and Spider-Man combined, as well as the ability to plant thoughts into people’s minds, Carnage will be a formidable foe Eddie Brock, who is ostensibly the hero (or antihero?) of the Spider-Man spinoff.

THR also notes that even though Spider-Man star Tom Holland is only contractually obligated to appear in sequels to Spider-Man: Homecoming, the plan seems to be to bring him into the spinoff films, including Venom, as well as potentially other Marvel movies.

Venom is being directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) and will open in theaters on October 5, 2018.
