‘Logan’ Director James Mangold And Dafne Keen Both Want An X-23 Movie

Logan is receiving heaps of praise from critics and audiences alike and one of the main sources of that acclaim is Dafne Keen’s breakout performance as young mutant Laura Kinney, a.k.a. X-23. Without going into spoilers, the ending of Logan leaves the door pretty wide open for more stories featuring Keen’s character and if 20th Century Fox ends up developing more movies featuring X-23, the young actress is on board.

Speaking to ComicBook.com, Keen was asked whether she would be interested in starring in her very own X-23 movie, to which she simply replied, “Yes.”

Logan director James Mangold was also on the same call and was asked whether he had given any thought to developing an X-23 film with Keen reprising her role and he followed her lead by also replying with a simple “Yes.”

Whether or not a X-23-focused movie gets made, it would a shame if 20th Century Fox didn’t bring back Keen for a future installment in the X-Men franchise, as she more than held her own alongside her much older co-stars Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart, and should be given the opportunity to develop the character further. Whatever the case, we’ll be first in line to see anything featuring X-23 after watching her absolutely destroy every bad guy she comes across in Logan.
