There has been a terrible Judge Dredd movie and there has been an amazing Judge Dredd movie. For the purpose of this article, please forget that the 1995 Sylvester Stallone version ever existed and focus on 2012’s criminally underrated Dredd, starring Karl Urban.
Dredd perfectly captured the tone of the original comic series. So much so, in fact, that fans have been begging for a sequel ever since. Literally begging, including a “Bring Back Dredd” petition that has already amassed almost 150,000 signatures. While the original studio seems uninterested in making another film, fans are desperately hoping that a service like Netflix will fund the project. They are, after all, spending more money to produce original and exclusive content than ever before.
One fan even photoshopped together how awesome the imaginary sequel would look on Netflix:

Which attracted the attention of the leading man himself, Karl Urban. He tweeted back, tagging Netflix and Amazon as two potential streaming homes for a potential sequel.

In the meantime, the rest of us nerds who love comic book movies (especially Rated R ones) will just have to wait patiently.
