JUSTICE LEAGUE: Superman’s Mustache To Be Removed For Reshoots

Reshoots are currently underway for Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon’s Justice League (to the tune of $25M) and among the more humorous details to come out of Variety’s story on the matter is that Henry Cavill’s facial hair is being digitally removed in post-production:

Justice League’s Man of Steel had expected to be able to finish shooting the sixth Mission: Impossible film before needing to don Superman’s spandex again. That has not been the case, however, as the new scenes that are being shot have required him to jump back and forth from each production. Because of this, a mustache he grew for his character in the Mission: Impossible sequel will have to be digitally removed in post-production. Paramount, which is distributing the Mission: Impossible sequel, would not allow Cavill to shave the facial hair while production was taking place.”

Yes, Henry Cavill is contractually obligated to keep his impressive ‘stache, meaning that Warner Bros. has to pay to remove all traces of it from Justice League. Personally, I’m fully on-board with the idea of Superman going all Magnum P.I. for the duration of the film, but I guess that isn’t really the look DC is going for.

Here’s an Instagram post showing off Cavill’s Mission Impossible 6 look:

Also, isn’t it funny how this is also official confirmation of Superman actually being in the film?
