“Scream Queen” Jamie Lee Curtis is returning to the horror franchise that put her on the map, as the actress and Universal announced today that 58-year-old will reprise her role as Laurie Strode in a new Halloween installment set to hit theaters in October 2018.
Curtis tweeted the news herself, complete with the first look at the character she first played in John Carpenter’s 1978 original:
"Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween. Release date 10/19/18." pic.twitter.com/IvptiZctyw

Back in February, it was reported that David Gordon Green and Danny McBride had written a new take on the franchise that introduced the world to masked killer Michael Myers. Green is set to direct, while Carpenter is executive producing alongside Green and McBride via Rough House Pictures.
This will be the 11th installment in the Halloween franchise.
